Title: Occupational Health Advisor
As an Occupational Health Advisor working part-time, two days per week, you will deliver nursing and administrative support within the Wrexham Occupational Health Service (OHS) and provide assistance to employees and managers. You will ensure effective planning and organising as per the service level agreement and maintain clear communication with managers under the guidance of the Specialist Occupational Health Nurse & Wellbeing Lead. Your role will support the health and well-being of the workforce and deliver administrative support to the Occupational Health Service.
This role is primarily based at the Wrexham plant; however, it may involve travel to Media City and the Manchester Plant to facilitate cross-functional working.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing:
- Health Screening: Plan and organise mandatory health screening appointments.
- Clinic Management: Liaise with and organise the clinic for contracted services, including sessional counsellors and physiotherapists.
- Health Assessments: Carry out mandatory health assessments under the supervision of the OH Lead, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures for early detection and prevention of occupational ill health.
- Pre-Placement Assessments: Complete pre-placement health assessments to advise the company on applicants' fitness for employment, possible work restrictions, and reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act.
- Health Promotion: Support the planning and delivery of health promotion initiatives and the Wrexham Wellness program, including the preparation and arrangement of materials.
- Medical Administration: Administer, store, and dispose of medicines and first aid supplies safely, and manage emergency medical equipment in compliance with the Medicines Act and Nursing and Midwifery Council guidelines.
- Record Keeping: Accurately record, store, and update medical information within medical records and computerised systems, ensuring compliance with Data Protection regulations.
- First Aid Support: Support on-site first aid and mental health first aid roles and responsibilities.

- Registered General Nurse
- Great organisational skills, customer-focused, and a team player.
- Strong communication, numeracy, and computer skills.
- Respect and adherence to confidentiality.
