Title:  Food Safety Head

Description: 

Passionate about ensuring the highest food safety standards? Join Kellanova as a Food Safety Head, where you'll lead food safety, sanitation, and HACCP programs for our Toluca Plant. In this role, you'll drive compliance, strengthen food safety culture, manage risks, and partner across the business to ensure our products are safe, consistent, and trusted by consumers.

 

 

A Taste of What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the site's HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and prerequisite programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Kellanova standards, regulatory requirements, and food safety policies.
  • Drive food safety assessments for new products, processes, equipment, and facility changes.
  • Lead environmental monitoring, foreign material prevention, pest control, and sanitation programs.
  • Analyze food safety KPIs, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Champion Food Safety Culture initiatives and training across the plant.
  • Lead internal, external, and regulatory food safety audits and ensure timely closure of actions.
  • Manage food safety incidents, risk assessments, and N1 events alongside cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and coach the Food Safety team while fostering continuous improvement.
  • Manage the Food Safety and Sanitation budget and support strategic QFS initiatives.

 

 

We're Looking for Someone With

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Food Safety, Sanitation, or Quality within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, GFSI, FSMA, Preventive Controls, and food safety systems.
  • Experience leading audits, inspections, and compliance programs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with risk-based decision making and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Advanced Excel skills; Power BI and SAP experience preferred.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and passion for protecting consumers.
