Title:  Lead Food Designer

As a Lead Food Designer on a 12‑month fixed term contract within our Adult Brands team, you’ll deliver innovation and renovation projects across a portfolio that includes Crunchy Nut, Special K, Extra and All‑Bran.

Reporting to the R&D Leader for the Adult Brands team, you’ll be part of a close‑knit group of four, working across our Trafford Park pilot plant, Haydock site and Media City office on a hybrid basis. The role also includes occasional national and international travel.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing 

• End-to-end product development – Leading the creation of new products from concept to launch and renovating existing products, ensuring they meet our high standards for taste and nutrition.
• Recipe development & formulation – Developing bench recipes, scoping ingredients and liaising with suppliers, formulating to cost and nutrition targets.
• Pilot-scale testing – Running pilot scale equipment to test and refine product formulations.
• PLM & specification management – Generating ingredient specs and recipes on PLM, ensuring compliance with Kellogg’s process requirements.
• Plant trial execution – Planning and executing plant trials at EU or UK sites, liaising with co-manufacturing and Kellogg sites as needed.
• Cross-functional collaboration & communication – Presenting project updates, building cross-functional relationships, aligning teams, and supporting other team members or projects as required.
• Stakeholder engagement – Attending project meetings, supplier presentation days, innovation sessions, and teambuilding events.

We’re Looking for Someone With 

• A degree in Food Science, Food Technology or equivalent.
• Strong technical knowledge of food development.
• A passion for creative, hands-on product development, with proven industry experience.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• A proactive mindset, with the drive to deliver results while keeping the consumer at the heart of what we do.
