Title:  Food Technologist

Description: 

We’re looking for a Food Technologist on a 12 month fixed term contract to help shape and elevate our Cereal and K‑Snacks portfolio within our Productivity & Network Optimisation team. You’ll bring ideas to life from benchtop concepts to full‑scale production, using your technical expertise to support product quality, guide plant trials, and drive cost‑effective, consumer‑focused innovation across the supply chain.

You’ll work closely with a small team of four, collaborating with functions across R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Marketing. This is a hybrid position split between our between our Trafford Park pilot plant until June 26 then Haddock centre of excellence and our Media City office, with occasional national and international travel.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

  • Product Development & Innovation: Lead development of Cereal and K‑Snacks projects, creating bench recipes and trial plans while ensuring nutritional and cost targets are met.
  • Manufacturing & Technical Support: Provide technical expertise to UK and international plants and co‑manufacturers, maintaining product quality and resolving production issues.
  • Trials & Commercialisation: Plan, run, and analyse pilot and plant trials, supporting commissioning activities across multiple locations.
  • Cost Optimisation & Procurement: Partner with Procurement to deliver cost‑saving initiatives through recipe optimisation, ingredient scoping, and continuity‑of‑supply support.
  • Specification & PLM Management: Ensure accurate product and ingredient specifications, uploading and maintaining data in PLM in line with company standards.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Present project updates and align with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Nutrition, Quality, Marketing, and Global teams; attend supplier and innovation sessions.

 

We’re Looking for Someone With

  • Food processing experience and solid understanding of manufacturing environments
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of food product development.
  • Passion for creative innovation and a background in the food sector
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • A proactive, results‑driven mindset with the consumer at the heart of every decision.
