Title:  Digital Technology Engineer

Description: 

As a Digital Technology Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping our Industry 4.0 journey, and beyond, by bringing the power of data and digital transformation to our operators and decision-makers. You’ll lead multiple engineering projects from concept through production and contribute to strategic digital transformation initiatives that drive innovation and efficiency.

 

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement the right OT (Operational Technology) digital and data systems. You’ll also coach our operations teams on how to effectively use their new tools. Your expertise in data collection, SCADA/MES, and networking will be essential in unlocking our full potential in the OT environment.

 

This position supports the following locations and can be based out of any of these offices or manufacturing plants: Battle Creek, MI; Grand Rapids, MI; Cary, NC; or Jackson, TN. Travel is estimated at up to 50%.

 

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

 

  • Support Manufacturing Facilities  Provide technical support to our manufacturing facilities in the areas of Industry 4.0, automation, operational technology networks, manufacturing control platforms, PLC control (Rockwell), control system software applications, SCADA/HMI graphic software applications (Rockwell, Wonderware, Ignition), integration protocol, SAP software, Kepware and OPC-UAinformation gathering systems (OSI-PI), and electrical/utility code requirements. 
  • Project Support & Delivery  Lead in directing, coordinating, communicating, and interpreting policy for North America region to ensure digital engineering projects are thoroughly planned, scheduled, scoped and estimated.  Work with plant/corporate systems engineers, continuous improvement engineers, IT, as well as developing a relationship with Global Engineering and Supply chain partners to provide and capture scope of every project.
  • Create Documentation  Develop and maintain electrical and software/control system and OT architecture specifications, design standards and cost estimating data
  • Capability Development  Coach, develop and lead digital transformation within engineering and across North America supply chain, engage and lead in digital Communities of Practice efforts.

 

We’re Looking for Someone With

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 10+ years of technical experience.
  • Strong skills in SQL, SCADA, MES, data collection, OT networking, TCP/IP, OPC-UA, and Pi/Pi Vision virtualization.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with control platforms such as Rockwell/AB, B&R, Beckhoff, Fanuc, and Siemens.
  • Project management and budget execution experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.

 

Compensation

 

The annual salary range is $100,600 - $131,985, which is based on various factors such as location, experience and skill. Discretionary bonuses based on company and individual performance are also available.
