Title:  Industrial Electrician

Description: 

Are you ready to power up your career in a fast-paced, high-speed food manufacturing environment? As an Industrial Electrician at our Grand Rapids Bakery, you'll play a critical role in keeping our advanced production equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. This is a fully on-site position supporting either 2nd Shift (2:45 PM to 10:45 PM) or 3rd Shift (10:45 PM to 6:45 AM).

 

Training will begin on 1st Shift for approximately three weeks before transitioning to 2nd Shift for additional onboarding and skill development. Employees are expected to fully transition into their permanent schedule within 45 to 60 days. Long-term shift placement is administered through the site's seniority-based bidding process.

 

You'll partner closely with Operations, Food Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, and Maintenance teams while working with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your PLC expertise, solve complex equipment issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that support some of the world's most recognized snack brands.

 

The hourly pay rate for this position is $44.21.

 

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing  

 

  • Maintain Equipment & Amplify PLC Knowledge  Troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and repair high-speed production machinery, focusing on programmable logic controllers.
  • Analyze Conditions & Provide Solutions  Diagnose equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and repair electrical and mechanical systems using PLC programming.
  • Drive Innovation & Communication  Identify efficiency improvements, seek cost-saving opportunities, and maintain open communication with the Maintenance Supervisor and Mechanics.

 

We’re Looking for Someone With

 

  • High School diploma or GED
  • State/Local Electrical License OR Journey Card (or will have either at time of hire)
  • PLC experience
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavior-based safety systems
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the day; occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
