Assistant Manager, Plant Finance

Title: Assistant Manager, Plant Finance

Reports to: Senior Manager, Plant Finance

Global Level: 2

 

Responsible for controlling and analyzing all financial and accounting aspects of the Chonburi plant. This includes factory expenses, material costs, and manufacturing variances. The role supports budgeting, forecasting, month-end closing, cost analysis, and compliance with corporate accounting standards.

The position also drives cost optimization initiatives and ensures financial discipline across departments by providing insights that support strategic and operational decisions.

 

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

  1. Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Assist in the full-year factory and standard cost budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submissions, identifying risks and opportunities for management action.
  • Update budgets based on the latest forecasts and operational inputs from budget owners.
  1. Costing & Analysis
  • Support standard costing activities for existing and new products.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances (usage, price, and purchase) against standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports highlighting cost drivers, trends, and variances to support management decisions.
  • Provide insights to optimize manufacturing cost efficiency and drive productivity.
  1. Reporting & Financial Analysis
  • Report current plant performance to budget owners, plant leadership, and upper management in line with corporate timelines.
  • Conduct variance analysis and explain results to stakeholders.
  • Develop and present charts, tables, and financial dashboards for clarity and decision-making.
  1. Month-End & Year-End Closing
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings in line with corporate accounting requirements.
  • Prepare accruals in close collaboration with budget owners and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all journal entries are well-supported and compliant.

 

  1. Savings & Continuous Improvement
  • Support and monitor factory savings (KIMM) and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Evaluate new cost-saving opportunities and ensure linkage to plant budget and actual spend.
  • Recommend creative alternatives to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
  1. Compliance & Internal Control
  • Support SOX 404 testing and internal control compliance.
  • Liaise with regional policy coordinators or SOX control teams for accounting treatments of new or complex transactions.
  • Ensure adherence to the Company’s accounting and internal control policies.
  1. Communication & Collaboration
  • Communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Build effective partnerships with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to enhance cost awareness.
  • Ensure clear, concise, and consistent communication in all reports and analyses.
  1. General & Ad Hoc Responsibilities
  • Execute high-priority tasks with urgency and discipline.
  • Carries out other tasks within the scope of expertise, incl. ad-hoc requests from the Plant Finance Controller, and upper management of AMEA Snacks BU.
  • Support audits, internal reviews, and other ad-hoc requests from management. Comply with GMP and contribute to continuous improvement of the Food Safety Program.

  • Accuracy and timeliness of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
  • Variance analysis quality and actionable insights provided
  • Effectiveness in cost optimization initiatives
  • Compliance with internal control and corporate reporting standards
  • Timeliness and accuracy in month-end closings

We’re Looking for Someone With

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 3–5+ years of relevant finance experience (manufacturing or cost accounting preferred)
  • Proven experience in cost analysis, variance analysis, and manufacturing finance
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using SAP ERP and financial planning systems
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across organizational levels
  • Understanding standard costing principles
  • Intermediate in English (both written and spoken)
