Title:  Reliability Engineer - Mechanical


The name might be different but our iconic range remains the same and includes Nutri-Grain, Special K, Sultana Bran and Coco Pops, LCMs and Pringles.  Our purpose drives what we do, to create better days and a place at the table for everyone through our trusted food brands. 

We’re re-investing back into our Botany-based Manufacturing Plant which has created the vacancy of Reliability Engineer – Mechanical.  This exciting, newly created role is responsible for identifying and implementing ongoing reliability improvements on assigned systems.  

We have been manufacturing our breakfast range from our Botany plant for close to 100 years!  Our manufacturing facility has obviously gone through many changes, extensions & modifications over this time.  As we fuel for growth, this role will form part of the team ensuring that the plant continues to sustain production and evolve so we continue to produce our iconic cereals for many more years to come!

This role in onsite 5 days per week. 

A taste of what you’ll be doing:-
•    Responsibility for assigned system & technology performance
•    Working cross-functionally with Maintenance and Operations to develop and implement system improvement plans
•    Value and tack improvement activities to ensure committed results are achieved
•    Create and maintain knowledge database to ensure learning are documented and shared with teams across the plant
•    Coach and qualify Production Operators and Maintenance teams to improve their knowledge on the systems to improve defect identification and rectification 
•    Ensure adherence to all standard work processes, including our lean manufacturing model (KWS) processes, auditing quality of work against required standards 


Your recipe for success:
The successful candidate will be either hold an Engineering degree or Mechanical Trade certificate.  With significant experience in an industrial environment ideally gained from an FMCG manufacturing environment, you will have the ability to work both independently as well as part of a team and to direct resources effectively.  A key part of your role will be to pass on your experience and learnings through documentation or instructional videos – so good communication skills are essential to ensure this information is easy to follow.
This is a large and complex site producing big volumes and operating 24x7, so someone has good  problem-solving abilities, negotiation who can work as part of a cross-functional operational team to get the job done.
