Title:  Packaging Technologist

Description: 

We are looking for a Packaging Technologist to join the R&D team who will support packaging development by leveraging technical expertise and plant experience to drive innovation, supplier engagement, and sustainability initiatives. 

 

This role offers a hands-on opportunity to lead packaging projects, collaborate across teams and supports the growth & development of the Graduate Packaging Technologist. 

 

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

 

  • Lead and manage packaging development activities across NPD projects, ensuring timely delivery of innovative, sustainable, and commercially viable packaging solutions.
  • Operate and troubleshoot packaging lines with a deep understanding of equipment and processes, contributing to technical problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and support packaging-related projects including value improvement (VI), new supplier onboarding, and material validation.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key packaging suppliers at both local and regional levels to leverage innovation, technical knowledge, and cost efficiencies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate packaging material specifications, ensuring compliance with all relevant governmental and regulatory requirements.

 

We’re Looking for Someone With

 

  • Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Food, Packaging, Engineering, or related field coupled with 3-4 years’ experience in a packaging related environment within FMCG food Industry.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills at a Senior Management Level
  • Detailed understanding of the packaging industry and strong network of contacts with suppliers and related industry partners
  • Strong team interaction skills to allow maximum influence on the business operation
  • Strong technical, analytical, communication and project management skills
