Title: Business Development Manager - Independents (NSW)

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our Sales – Independents team, leading the growth of our Independent grocery channel across NSW (inc. Sydney Metro & Regional). This role is a great stepping stone into Account Management, offering the opportunity to expand your thinking as a salesperson while being fully immersed in our iconic global portfolio of brands.
As a BDM, you will play a critical role in representing Kellanova in the field, managing relationships and executing strategies across key Independent retailers. You’ll take ownership of your territory, driving sales, visibility, and execution of strategic initiatives to strengthen our presence and performance in market.
Please note this is a 12-month Fixed-Term contract.
A Taste Of What You’ll Be Doing:-
- Management of Tier 2 Independents groups, including negotiating and delivering promotional programs, growth opportunities, and local area marketing
- Direction and management of dedicated merchandisers, including planning, coverage, direction, and reporting.
- P&L accountability for Tier 2 Indies groups, ensuring financial targets are met
- Develop and maintain strong and long-term customer partnerships
- Complete reporting and increased promotional effectiveness
Your Recipe For Success: -
- Experience in strategic planning and execution, particularly in the FMCG sector.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and autonomously manage projects.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in developing and executing promotional programs.
- Proficiency in P&L management and analysis.
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills, with a proven ability to successfully juggle multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey plans and insights to stakeholders.
- Self-managed and motivated
- Clean NSW drivers’ licence
