Title: Associate Manager, Category Management
Advance your career as an Associate Manager, Category Management on the Walmart Team. The ideal candidate will reside in Bentonville, AR area (including but not limited to Rogers, AR; also open to candidates in Battle Creek, MI, Chicago, IL, or other locations in the United States) You will be a part of a dynamic and diverse-minded team focused on providing assortment and shelving insights on the Salty Snacking categories. You will execute category strategies across all or multiple categories, in alignment with customer priorities. You will also be responsible for proactively initiating Category Management activities, developing innovative solutions based on consumer insights and account knowledge to drive goals and objectives, and building the customer relationship.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Advancing Category Initiatives – You will support the creation and commercialization of category strategies. This will include shelving and assortment initiatives related to the achievement of the Walmart Merchandising Team’s objectives. Leveraging the broader category team, you will work to become a trusted partner.
- Performing Business Analytics – Proactively uncover opportunities through tracking robust analytics of the category, consumer, shopper, market, and customer information. From your findings, you will develop fact-based recommendations and presentations.
- Executing Planogram Process – Working closely with the Walmart Buying team, you will deliver the merchandising strategy. Collaborating with the category management and strategy teams you will develop cross-category insights and test initiatives. You will assemble and deliver presentations and supporting documents.
- Project Management – Your project management skills will be key in leading and supporting customer specific initiatives designed to deliver category growth.
- Customer Interaction – This position will involve a high degree of customer interaction. You will provide objective category reviews that strive to achieve mutually beneficial sales and market share goals.
Your Recipe for Success
- High school diploma/GED with a preference for a bachelor’s degree
- High-level analytical capability.
- High proficiency using syndicated data (such as Nielsen or IRI), loyalty card data, and shopper panel metrics preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Assimilating and interpreting data from multiple disparate data sources into concise, action-oriented recommendations
- Experience providing industry, consumer, and customer trends to develop strategic action plans.
