Title:  Manager, Category Management

Grow with us as a Manager, Category Management working on our Regional Grocery Category Management team. We are actively seeking top talent across the Philadelphia, New York, and New Jersey Markets 

 

As an integral part of the Kellanova team, you will be responsible for the execution of Category Management activities within our Regional Grocery Business. Utilizing consumer and customer insights, you will develop innovative solutions to drive business growth. You will align with the customers’ priorities by executing forward-looking omni-channel strategies, gaining insights beyond our categories and within occasions. 

 

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing 

 

  • Unlock Insights Through Data & Analytics –Bring your intellectual curiosity by creating robust insights based on analytics of the retailer, occasion, category, consumer, and industry while clearly communicating solutions that are actionable and mutually beneficial.
  • Build Fact-Based, Measurable and Holistic Strategies– Your project management skills will be key in leading strategic customer-specific initiatives designed to deliver category growth. You will present and negotiate projects around product and placement, leveraging tools and resources to identify and test, bringing strategic solutions that address the shopper problems to solve. 
  • Drive Growth Strategically through Joint Value Creation -Maintaining awareness of market trends and competitor strategies, you will adjust Kellanova strategy accordingly. Lead the local category management team, and develop category winning solutions for Kellanova and your retailer.  You will also partner with the account teams to broaden the understanding of the shopper, consumer and retailer and help to close the sale. 
  • Bring Occasion-Based Category Vision to Life– Finalizing exceptional execution plans will be key to your success as you see an initiative completed as planned. You and your team will conduct key customer calls and promote a customer-centered culture that strives to exceed customer needs, requirements, and expectations–ensuring the success of each initiative. 
  • Empower and Develop Talent– Utilize your leadership skills to direct the professional development of your category management team, putting effective goals in place, all while fostering an inclusive, dynamic, and cross-functional experience that promotes business success, team growth, and a healthy and vibrant culture. 

 

We’re Looking for Someone With 

 

  • High school diploma or GED required; BA/BS preferred. 
  • Significant industry experience in areas such as category management, shopper insights and/or sales 
  • Proficiency using syndicated data (i.e. Nielsen, IRI), retailer specific loyalty card data, shopper panel metrics and space planning software. (JDA, Apollo, Other  
  • Previous experience communicating complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels, both in writing and verbally 
  • Ability to influence customers’ decision-making processes by clearly communicating solutions that are mutually beneficial to the category and Kellanova Company. 
  • Motor vehicle history with 2 or fewer moving violations and no DUI convictions within the last 36 months.
