Title: Senior Sanitation Supervisor
The Senior Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all sanitation, hygiene, and food safety practices within the cracker manufacturing facility comply with federal, state, and company requirements. This role exists to protect consumer safety by maintaining sanitary conditions and preventing contamination, including allergens. The position supports regulatory compliance and sustains a food‑safe production environment at all times. The role also provides leadership and technical expertise to sanitation operations supporting manufacturing performance.
This onsite role is based in Kansas City, KS and partners closely with Food Safety, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and EHS teams. You will lead a large sanitation workforce while aligning sanitation activities with production schedules and plant priorities. The position offers hands‑on leadership responsibility, frequent audit exposure, and continuous improvement involvement. It is well‑suited for a sanitation leader who is detail‑oriented, operationally strong, and comfortable in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Sanitation Leadership & Execution – Direct and coordinate daily sanitation activities for processing, packaging, warehouse, and plant grounds while executing the Master Sanitation Schedule in alignment with GMPs, SSOPs, OPSAN, and cracker manufacturing requirements.
- Food Safety & Compliance – Conduct sanitation inspections, verifications, and validations including ATP, APC, allergen swabbing, and environmental monitoring to support FDA, FSMA, SQF, OSHA, and EPA requirements.
- Team Leadership & Development – Lead hourly sanitation operators and contracted services through daily direction setting, Tier meetings, PIC audits, training, and performance accountability.
- Operational Partnership – Align sanitation plans with production schedules, changeovers, and maintenance activities while supporting autonomous maintenance, hygienic zoning, and sanitary design standards.
- Continuous Improvement & Administration – Review sanitation data, KPIs, and trends; manage inventory, payroll, and scheduling; and initiate corrective actions and continuous improvement activities.
We’re Looking for Someone With
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, food science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience with a high school diploma or general education diploma.
- Progressive experience supporting sanitation, food safety, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong working knowledge of GMPs, food safety programs, SSOPs, allergen control, and sanitation best practices.
- Experience leading hourly teams and coordinating contracted sanitation or pest control services.
- Ability to support internal audits, third‑party audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing or sanitation systems such as SAP, Kleanz, and Smart Factory.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, unionized manufacturing environment.
Compensation
The annual salary range is $85,800 - $ 112,665, which is based on various factors such as location, experience and skill. Discretionary bonuses based on company and individual performance are also available.
