Title: Plant HR Manager
As the Human Resource Manager in our Kansas City Plant you’ll have the opportunity to lead the site Human Resource team and contribute as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Your focus will be to lead strategically on key company initiatives, including labor and employee relations. You will ensure connectivity between people and plant operations at all levels by engaging with employees and being a thought leadership partner for the SLT. Your positive, can-do attitude will be key to engaging and partnering with colleagues at all levels!
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Business Partner – You are a key business partner to the Plant Manager and each member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the “heartbeat” of the plant! Your focus on people and your ability to understand how to positively motivate and engage them will be key to your success. You will work closely with functional corporate partners from our Global Business Services (GBS), Supply Chain HR and Labor Relations teams to execute on essential HR business strategies. You will be the primary contact for and keeper of a collaborative and business-focused relationship with the local union leadership.
- Human Resources & Labor Relations – You will provide leadership to your team and the SLT and be responsible for devising and employing communication and engagement strategies designed to progress business goals. You will manage EEOC, Affirmative Action, Employee Relations, and day-to-day Labor Relations activities such as accountability, discipline, grievances, arbitrations, and negotiations. You will seek and employ creative solutions to persistent challenges. You will be a key member of the company negotiations team preparing for and engaging in the labor negotiations process.
- Change Management- You will partner with the leadership team to understand, champion, and support change management activities. You will use your ability to influence to help employees understand changes that take place as well as the “why” behind those changes.
- Training & Development – In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the training and delivery of appropriate training to employees at all levels. You will be comfortable with utilizing various HR technologies, service delivery models and people-related programs and initiatives as needed. You will also be part of developing the bakery leadership team, HR Talent and Front-Line leaders.
- High Performance Culture – You know what motivates people to do their best and how to bring people together toward a shared vision. Driving the people-related aspects of a high-performance work culture will be a major focus of your role.
Your Recipe for Success
- Bachelor’s degree, MBA or Master’s degree a plus
- Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- At least 7 years of human resources experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a labor/union environment
- Experience at an organization that was either already considered a High Performing Organization or was in the process of making that transition.
- Skilled at leadership development through coaching and training.
