Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer
Manufacturing Process Engineers play a critical role in how products are produced safely, efficiently, and at scale in a manufacturing environment. In this role, you will work cross‑functionally to strengthen processes and build capability while driving results across safety, quality, service, cost, and sustainability. You will spend meaningful time on the production floor partnering with Operations and Maintenance teams to solve real manufacturing challenges. This position is based on‑site at a large‑scale manufacturing facility in Kansas City, Kansas.
You will join a team focused on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and consistent daily performance. The work is hands‑on and highly impactful, including safety improvements, new product introductions from a process perspective, cost savings initiatives, and yield and loss reduction. You will collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Continuous Improvement teams across production shifts. This role is focused on delivering results through strong manufacturing execution, disciplined processes, and flexibility to support key operational needs.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Optimize Manufacturing Processes – Lead improvements to active production processes by analyzing performance, reducing losses, improving flow, and implementing efficiency‑driven solutions directly on the manufacturing floor.
- Drive Manufacturing Performance and Standards – Own and support manufacturing performance measures by developing, implementing, and sustaining standard work and process controls across production lines and shifts.
- Lead Continuous Improvement – Apply structured continuous improvement and root cause problem‑solving methods to address safety, quality, and productivity issues in partnership with operations and maintenance teams.
- Provide Hands‑On Technical Support – Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing equipment, process settings, raw materials, packaging, and finished goods while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, food safety, and good manufacturing practice requirements.
- New Product Launches – Lead projects related to process optimization, cost savings, packaging improvements, mix and bake efficiency improvements, and new product launches from a packaging and process perspective.
- Material and Process Delivery – Execute work according to standard operating procedures, establish critical quality requirements, reduce process variability across the line, address performance variances, improve yield, operate to equipment design rates, and deliver cost‑saving targets.
We’re Looking for Someone With
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or a high school diploma or general education diploma with hands‑on manufacturing experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or plant environment supporting day‑to‑day operations.
- Experience supporting production processes, manufacturing equipment, and operators on the plant floor.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing safety, quality, and good manufacturing practice requirements.
- Experience using structured continuous improvement tools in a manufacturing setting.
- Flexibility to work across multiple shifts as needed to support product launches, training, and critical operational activities.
Compensation
The annual salary range is $107,800 - $141,540, which is based on various factors such as location, experience and skill. Discretionary bonuses based on company and individual performance are also available.
