Title:  Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Description: 

As an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist in our Jackson, TN, facility you will work collaboratively with employees to create a strong presence of safety to enable the prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses. You will lead environmental compliance activities and ensure our facility is adhering to regulations. Using your training skills, you will provide key safety insights and increase knowledge and understanding across the plant. Innovate with us as you inform and influence at all levels and functions, ensuring that health and safety is a value that is continuously improved upon.

 

 

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

 

  • Provide Functional Support  Minimize and eliminate workplace health and safety risks and hazards by serving as the technical resource for all relevant plant people safety and environmental compliance areas.
  • Safeguard Our Workplace – Work closely with others to lead activities that ensure our company continues to be a safe and healthy place to work. Your top-notch expertise and people skills will enable you to implement occupational safety and health standards, provide meaningful safety and health training that leads to strong knowledge transfer, and work with partners to develop innovative programs to prevent workplace hazards.
  • Manage Processes  Prepare, maintain and submit records and reports required by the company and/or regulatory agencies. Thanks to your well-organized approach, we’ll have accurate and timely environmental health and safety recordkeeping, document management and effective case management.
  • Demonstrate Leadership  Lead and work collaboratively on the development, review and revision of safety and environmental training programs. Across the site, you’ll prioritize the safety and environment initiative and the major hazards and risks, and ensure actions are taken to mitigate or eliminate risks. Your passion for precision and vision for tomorrow will help you effectively lead, coordinate, and participate in EHS performance improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver Success -Track, report, and analyze EHS performance as you manage site security programs and systems. With your creative bent and strong problem-solving skills, you’ll support leadership and deliver results

 

 

We’re Looking for Someone With

 

  • High school diploma, GED or international equivalent
  • Strong experience and knowledge of safety and environment processes and procedures
  • Strong leadership, training, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, research and analytical skills
  • Experience or familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and plant specific software systems
