Title: Senior Manager, Portfolio Development
Advance your career as a Senior Manager, Portfolio Development supporting the Salty, Portable Wholesome Snacks and Frozen categories. In this role, you will translate shopper insights and category strategy into curated retailer selling stories. This position can be based in Chicago, IL or Battle Creek, MI on a hybrid basis.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Category Strategy – Refine category strategy, shelving, and assortment initiatives to achieve sales goals. Additionally, promote Kellanova’s Category Management best practices within account teams and drive portfolio distribution objectives, including tracking and monthly reporting.
- Business Analytics – Proactively identify opportunities, connect insights across the organization, and leverage business intelligence tools to uncover key category insights. Additionally, create fact-based selling tools and presentations for the Kellanova portfolio, driving net sales and market share growth.
- Customer Focus – Gain credibility by understanding customer priorities and leveraging insights. Influence decision-makers using data, relationships, and insights to drive category growth. Expand the reach of retailer loyalty data beyond account teams, integrating it into national selling stories when appropriate.
- Insights– Leverage existing data and insights to create compelling customer-facing solutions and collaborate with the insights team to commission targeted consumer and shopper research.
We’re Looking for Someone With
- Significant CPG industry experience with Category Management or Shopper Insights
- Strong knowledge of Category Management practices
- Effective communicator of complex and/or detailed information to multiple audiences with differing knowledge levels, both in writing and verbally
- Ability to draw conclusions, address key opportunities, and understand and apply market research tools to create selling stories, along with experience negotiating and influencing large groups or high-level constituents internally and externally
- Experience using insights to build category strategy to increase distribution
- Proficiency working in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in using syndicated data (i.e. Nielsen, Circana), and retailer specific loyalty card data, shopper panel metrics and space planning software. (JDA, Apollo or Spaceman)
Compensation
The annual salary range is $145,400-$181,700 which is based on various factors such as location, experience and skill. Discretionary bonuses based on company and individual performance are also available.
