Title: Senior Manager, Category Strategy
As Senior Manager, Category Strategy within the Salty snacking category (Pringles, Cheez-It and Club crackers), you will use insights such as occasions, consumer segmentation, and in-store behavior to develop a category vision that our competitors will envy. This hybrid position is based in Chicago, IL or Naperville, IL.
This role will be a critical leader in developing relationships between retailers, sales, and field category management. You will help shape the future of our foods in the marketplace within a rapidly growing environment. Your responsibilities will include the development of a category vision grounded in macro, shopper, and category trends, connecting the Kellanova portfolio as an avenue for growth.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Category Strategy – As the “go-to” expert in future category growth, you will reinforce Kellanova as a thought leader. Uncovering key insights and developing fact-based selling tools will be crucial for future category growth. Your delivery of action-oriented point of sale (POS) and consumer/shopper insights will help produce net sales and market share growth goals.
- Customer Focus – Success will hinge on the ability to collaborate with customer decision makers. You will bring thought leadership to our customers through fact-based strategy and execution anchored in category growth.
- Category Insights – Proactively leading and partnering in the development of tools, processes, and analytics will be essential to answering how we reshape the future of the aisle. Projects include in-store testing, virtual store testing and scan/panel analysis. Sharing category insights internally will enhance whitespace opportunities in Kellanova’s marketing, innovation, and sales strategies.
- Internal Optimization - Driving a strong alignment and partnership internally will be imperative. Working closely with the commercial lead, together you will implement shopper and category insights to help further the growth of Kellanova.
We’re Looking for Someone With
- Bachlor’s Degree
- Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods focused on category management
- Retail facing role in sales or category management a plus
- Strong understanding of Nielsen/IRI data for insights and analysis; strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, presentation, coaching, leadership, and time management skills
- Experience creating retail facing selling stories, collaborating on learning agendas and working on projects with cross functional peers (marketing, RGM, commercial, finance, field sales)
- Strong working knowledge of PC applications, including MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and email (MS Outlook)
- Entrepreneurial spirit, humility, a servant mindset, and a passion for winning. Experience working across a multitude of categories and channels
