Title:  National Account Executive

Description: 

As a Wholesaler National Account Executive supporting the West Grocery Team, you play a key role in driving profitable growth across high-volume categories. You influence customer purchasing decisions and collaborate weekly with cross-functional partners—including OTC, OTD, and Supply Chain—to develop strategic plans, learning agendas, and performance analyses. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of shopper and consumer insights to shape effective customer strategies.

 

You’ll need to be agile, continuously refining plans based on pre- and post-promotion performance to optimize future programs. A thorough understanding of your business is essential to accelerating sales growth.

Beyond your core responsibilities, you provide indirect leadership across the broader Wholesaler Team, overseeing both Chain and Independent accounts that generate over $250 million in annual sales.

 

This remote role requires up to 30% travel, with preference given to candidates in the Central or Eastern time zones. It also qualifies for the Kellanova Auto Reimbursement Program for team members who drive at least 5,000 business miles annually.

 

 

A Taste of What You’ll be Doing

 

  • Account Development- Act as the primary contact for category buyers; create annual joint business plans focused on merchandising, promotions, advertising, shelf space, pricing, and new product launches.
  • Strategic Partnerships- Build strong relationships with internal and external partners by educating, gathering feedback, and proactively addressing customer needs.
  • Budget Management- Drive profit and loss performance by aligning with account priorities, securing distribution gains, managing demand and trade planning, and ensuring accurate budget adherence.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration- Serve as the key liaison between buyers, supply chain, and customer delivery teams to ensure accurate orders, timely delivery, and seamless communication until product receipt.

 

We’re Looking for Someone with

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience with top national account customers/wholesalers and proven success in headquarter-level collaboration, either through direct sales or in partnership roles such as marketing or category management
  • A background in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, with National Wholesaler experience preferred.
  • Advanced project management and process skills, including proficiency in P&L ownership and financial analysis
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong negotiation abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners
  • This is a driving role which requires the use of a vehicle. To meet the requirements of the role, your driving record must be clear of any combination of violations or one-time significant events occurring in a personal or company vehicle within the previous 36 months

 

Compensation Insights:

The annual salary range is $127,700-$167,580 which is based on various factors such as location, experience and skill. Discretionary bonuses based on company and individual performance are also available
