Title: Associate Director, Cross-Category Strategy
As an Associate Director, Cross Chanel Strategy you will be responsible for directing the execution of Category Strategy and leading alignment with Sales and category teams to provide a consistent message to our customers. Utilizing your expertise, you will assist in developing and executing sales plans that meet revenue for Kellanova. You will own the responsibility for the successful planning and implementation of the strategies across categories to drive performance and a consistent message to our customers. The ideal candidate will be in Chicago, IL, Battle Creek, MI or Cincinnati, OH.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Cross-functional Collaboration: You will partner across multiple aspects of the organization including category strategy, business development, sales leads, commercial strategy, and insights and analytics. It is critical for this individual to be able to partner with and influence a group of diverse functions and ensure they are all working towards collaborative and progressive initiatives.
- Internal Analysis and Insights: You’ll uncover business insights and sales opportunities that will accelerate retail growth through monitoring competitive activity and in depth understanding of analytics. Providing insights on what is happening with Kellanova’s portfolio and the category by leveraging business intelligence tools will be key. Your insights will lead to solutions to grow categories and the overall business.
- Project and Process Ownership: You will have a bias for action, and be comfortable driving a project forward even when you don’t have all of the required information or instructions. You’ll adopt an entrepreneur’s mindset; through your initiative, curiosity, and persistence, you will figure it out and advance our projects and brands.
- Business Review: You will be responsible for driving consistent business reviews that bring together the total sales strategy across six key categories. You will ensure that the sales and categories teams align during the review to drive the overall business forward in a consistent manner.
Your Recipe for Success
- Significant CPG industry experience with Category Management, Sales, or Shopper Insights
- Effective communicator of complex and/or detailed information to multiple audiences with differing knowledge levels, both in writing and verbally
- Ability to draw conclusions, address key opportunities, and understand and apply market research tools to create selling stories
- Experience negotiating and influencing, through communications, large groups or high-level constituents internally and externally
- Experience using insights to build category strategy to increase distribution
- Proficiency working in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work in conditions that include multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities
