Title: Senior Analyst Demand Controller
As a Senior Analyst, Demand Controller you’ll work to refine a short-term demand plan aligning with Sales & Operating Execution. You will be a key driver in managing trade-offs in short-term demand and supply. This is a critical role in the Sales & Operating Execution process, providing accurate and detailed demand at SKU, location, and customer level. Using data insights, you will break down the monthly demand plan into weekly or even daily plans. The role can be based out of Chicago, IL or Battle Creek, MI and will work in a flexible, hybrid model with weekly in-office days.
This position will partner with various sales execution organizations to gather the latest market intelligence on specific customer-level demand events and signals. Collaborate with the customer service organization to understand order trends in the short term. This role will work with the modeling team to provide forecast enhancements to improve accuracy. Partner with demand teams to provide updates on short-term demand changes and potential impacts on medium-term demand.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Forecast Analysis & Recommendation - Assess the impact of market changes, customer events or other significant variances in the forecast. This will be necessary in recommending appropriate revisions and corrective actions.
- Demand and Sales Support - Develop, monitor, and report on demand changes and forecast accuracy. This will include modeling impacts of sales factors like distribution changes, price adjustments, and promotional plans. Your efforts will support business unit and supply chain KPI adherence.
- Collaboration - Working with sales, customer service and potentially with key customers, you will evaluate / interpret the latest market trends as well as demand shaping initiatives. This will be key as you assess potential impact on short-term demand, adjust the weekly trends and SKU split forecast to reflect those impacts.
- Demand Forecasting & Risk Assessment Protocol – Determine and communicate short-term demand forecast range, down to the SKU, location, and customer level where applicable. Assess potential upside opportunity and downside risk to the replenishment planners and/or factory scheduler.
- Forecast Accuracy Enhancement - Contributing to forecast accuracy improvement, you will validate forecast consumption as one of the inputs to demand planning. Whenever demand is not going to consumption (either building or consuming inventory more than planned), the demand controller should conduct a root cause analysis and correction to the short-term.
We’re Looking for Someone With
