Title:  Associate Quality Manager, Packaging

Description: 

Kellanova is seeking an Associate Quality Manager, Packaging to provide technical guidance on packaging materials and processes for product commercialization. This role will act as the main contact for addressing packaging quality and food safety issues and ensuring timely launches of our commercial business plans.

 

As the Associate Quality Manager, Packaging, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and quality of packaging materials, directly impacting the successful launch of new products. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to lead quality packaging programs across North America, collaborate with a diverse range of professionals, and drive continuous improvement in packaging. This hybrid position can be based out of our offices in Battle Creek, MI, or Chicago, IL.

 

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

 

  • Risk Assessment- Serve as the primary contact with packaging techs, engineering, plants, procurement, and suppliers to resolve packaging material quality and food safety issues, assessing risk and recommending science-based solutions.
  • Supplier Collaboration- Work with suppliers and procurement to correct immediate issues, conduct root cause analysis, and ensure execution of corrective action plans.
  • Technical Guidance- Provide technical guidance, develop specifications, and approve suppliers for high-risk food contact packaging materials for new products or renovations.
  • Continuous Improvement- Enhance the cost/quality relationship with strategic suppliers by participating in global strategic sourcing teams and driving continuous improvement in the packaging supply base.
  • Regulatory Compliance- Stay informed on emerging safety and regulatory issues, using technical expertise to assess risk and propose solutions to management.

 

We’re Looking for Someone With

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Technology or Engineering.
  • Experience in packaging technology or packaging manufacturing quality control.
  • Understanding of consumer soft goods manufacturing, Good Manufacturing Practices, and experience across multiple packaging platforms (e.g., cartons, film, corrugate, cans, adhesives).
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills, including root cause analysis, risk assessment, and corrective/preventive action, with experience in specification/standards and policy development.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
