Title:  Assistant Manager, Quality Assurance


Role  Purpose:

Report to QA Manager in governing and implementing product quality program to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with food safety & quality standards and relevant country regulatory requirements.



  • Accountable for quality control and assurance system for incoming material & packaging material, in process production and finished products
  • Executing & responsible for the hold & release program, whenever there is non-conformance against to the quality standards & policy, end to end coordination task till the impacted products is scrap or release all the quality products at timely manners is required.
  • Manage & maintain SAP Quality module system.
  • Lead & drive investigation whenever quality incidents happened till the root cause was found, follow up with effective corrective & preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
  • Supplier management including liaison with supplier on the issue ensuring root cause and corrective action is effectively implement with no recurrence.
  • Manage customer & consumer complaint including support to investigation and corrective action.
  • To liaise with external parties, e.g. customers (audit, complaints, etc.), regulatory authorities (regulatory requirements) , R&D (Trials)  to ensure quality management system is being followed.
  • Review and maintain quality documentations & procedures ensuring all the documents are up to date.
  • Prepare, review, and analyse the quality data trend and suggest on the improvement plan.
  • Establish training program whenever needed.
  • Manage laboratory including assurance to the people safety, equipment maintenance & calibration & results validity.
  • Manage and leading QA technicians including resource planning, guide & coach on day to day duty, and developing technicians skills & competency for next role.
  • Support all the managerial duties at the absence of QA manager.  

Critical Capability, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Nutrition, Chemistry, Microbiology, or other equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in Quality control/assurance in food manufacturing.
  • Preferable experience in microbiological laboratory, basic problem-solving skill and analytical thinking in root cause analysis.
  • Internal auditing skill, knowledge in HACCP and sanitation will be added advantage.
  • Ability to work & communicate effectively with cross-functional teams as well as technicians, operators and contract workers.
  • Familiar with computer software of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ability to communicate (both written and spoken) in English and Malay
